How qualified are you to administer anesthesia?
As a parent myself of young children, I welcome this kind of inquiry and understand the desire of parents to confirm that their child’s anesthesia provider is qualified to provide anesthesia. My anesthesia training, qualifications, and experience include the following:
- Residency training in anesthesiology
- Post-residency anesthesia subspecialty training
- Board certification and recertification by the American Board of Anesthesiology
- 17 years of experience as a full-time physician anesthesiologist taking care of tens of thousands of patients, including many with the most challenging medical conditions and undergoing the most major of surgeries
- Past or present medical staff privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital, O’Connor Hospital, Regional Medical Center (San Jose, CA); Kaiser Permanente-Fremont, Kaiser Permanente-Hayward; and several other hospitals in the Los Angeles area
